Assalamu-Alaykum, I submitted some long time before a question through your Q&A page, but didn't see a reply in any form to it. Allow me to repeat the questuin here, but in English, and hope that you kindly spend some moments in responding to it. My question was about the extensive use of the phrase "Allahu Akbar" not only in prayers but a slogan shouted everywhere and also in a lot of other doings and occasions. My wondering comes from the fact that this exact phrase cannot be found anywhere in the Qur'an text. The only appearance of something related can be found in: 2:185, 22:37 "... w le-tu-ka-berru-lahha ..." 13:9, 22:62, 31:30, 34:23, 40:12 ".. alkabeer ..." 74:3 "... wa rabbak fa kab-ber ..." 111:17 "... wa kab-ber-hu takk-beera ..." The only place where the squence of words "Allahu Akbar" can be found in 29:45 "... wala zekrul-lah-he Akbar" but it doesn't has the same meaning as the phrase "Allahu Akbar"! Have you been looking into this observation? I'm seriously interested to receive your opinion about that! It would be interesting to learn when historically this phrase has been coined. Many thanks in advance and may the Almighty reward you highly for your sincere efforts to enlighten us about the true Islam. Best regards N. Grillbank |
